Jelly Bean Pot Holders

Pot Holders.... Yes!! You need them if you cook or bake... I have quite an amount of denim and made some potholders from them a few years ago. Then my sister-in-law gave me a heart shaped potholder she made for me... After a great deal of use I came up with a shape and size I find to be more user friendly. This I call my Jelly Bean potholder. Now I am working my way through making it a .PDF file. Subsequently making it available to people who want it... Baby steps...

Collecting

I have been feverishly collecting and looking at a myriad of inspirational works. Quilting has so much to offer... One can sew blocks that are traditional or askew. There are pictorials, landscapes, geometric, you name it!! Finding my niche is what I am working on in my evolution. Having lived in the Southwest for the past 35 years or so has some bearing on what is close to my heart. Shortly we will be moving to the 'Western Slope' in Colorado and I know it will bring a whole new mix to what is beautiful in the world to me. All a work in progress... But isn't that what life is?? A work in progress!!

Some friends of ours just moved to Colorado ( for work opportunity ) and I decided to make a little couch quilt to toss on the back of the couch so they might see it and it might remind them of us... I tend to be creative, on my own terms, meaning... Like in baking you need precise measurments to make the recipe a successful!! While in cooking you need some of this and some of that, a much less exact process to be successful!! That's more how I roll...

Welcome to my Blog

What a strange word, blog. But here I go! Welcome! I intend to share with all who pass my way the wonderment of Quilting. There are all sorts of ways we can express ourselves. In wandering the Internet I've encountered 'Fiber Artists', Artists that work in varied mediums which seem out of the ordinary, Stained Glass Artists...all sorts of fun people are having, I find it phenomenal!! I learned to sew at the age of 10 and have dabbled in it on and off over the course of the last 40 something years... I love to Crochet and have made many a baby blanket as gifts to young parents to keep their little bundles of joy warm and cozy. I make string bags for carrying groceries so you can leave the plastic for someone else, and dishcloths made of 100% cotton. I am currently making a rug of circles, later I'll drop some links so I can share other creations with you if you should wish to look. After much research I have decided that quilting would suite me at this time of my life... I must say, I am in awe of the quilts some of you gals have created. Your imagination blows me away!! With that said, you are invited to come with me on my journey, feel free to share your thoughts and ideas with me but Please, be gentle!
